Working KITAS - Who Is It for And What Are the Benefits?
Who Is It For?
The Working Visa, also known as Working KITAS, is designed for foreigners employed in Indonesia for an extended period. Ideal for those looking to immerse themselves in the Indonesian job market, this visa allows professionals to live and work legally while enjoying the full range of benefits, including income generation, bank account setup, tax payments, and more.

What Are The Benefits?
A Working KITAS grants you access to a comprehensive range of employment and lifestyle benefits:
  • Legal Employment: Work in Indonesia and receive a regular salary.
  • Financial Services: Open bank accounts and manage finances locally.
  • Tax Compliance: Pay taxes in Indonesia and adhere to local regulations.
  • Telecommunications: Obtain mobile phone services and other utilities.
To be eligible, you must be employed by a company registered in Indonesia, which could be a Foreign Owned Company (PMA), a Representative Office, or an Indonesian Owned Company. The duration of your Working KITAS varies based on your job role: typically 12 months for Directors, Commissioners, and Senior Managers, while advisors may receive a 6-month non-extendable visa.

If you need guidance on setting up a company or learning about different legal entities in Indonesia, feel free to reach out.

Steps to Get Your Remote Visa Indonesia
1. Provide Documentation
Submit all necessary documents related to your KITAS application, and we will verify everything to ensure a successful submission.
2. Ministry of Manpower Submission
Once verified, the documents will be submitted to the Ministry of Manpower to apply for the RPTKA (Expatriate Placement Plan) and IMTA (Work Permit).
3. DPKK Payment
For work permits, a mandatory payment of $100 USD per visa length (known as the DPKK fund) is payable to the Ministry of Manpower. This payment is required before the visa process begins.
4. Visa Approval
After receiving approval from the Ministry of Manpower, the documentation will be submitted to the online immigration system, and your visa approval will be granted. With the new e-visa regulations, there’s no need to collect your visa from an overseas embassy; the electronic visa will be sent directly to you. Visa costs are payable upfront.
5. Enter Indonesia
You can now enter Indonesia using the e-visa, simplifying your entry process.
6. Biometric Process
Upon arrival, you will undergo a biometric process, including a profile photo and fingerprinting.
7. KITAS Issuance
The KITAS (Stay Permit) will be issued within 3 days and provided to the applicant.
8. Civil Registration
Within 14 days of receiving your KITAS, you must register with the Civil Departments to obtain your SKSKPS (Certificate of Family Formation of Temporary Residents) and STM (Police Certificate).
