​New business owners in Indonesia are often surprised to learn that they must file not only annual tax reports but also monthly ones. This requirement can be costly and should be factored in when registering your business. ​

​When to Start Tax reporting ?​

​Once you establish a business in Indonesia, you must register as a taxpayer. You'll receive a Tax ID Number (NPWP), Tax Relief Certificate (SKT), and, if your annual gross revenue exceeds 4.8 billion IDR, a Taxable VAT Entity Confirmation Number (SPPKP). 
With your NPWP and SKT, you're obligated to calculate, pay, and file tax reports with the Indonesian Tax Authority. Even if your business isn't earning money, you're still required to file a zero-tax report to avoid penalties, surcharges, or even imprisonment. ​

​Filing Deadlines

• ​Corporate Tax Reporting: File by the 20th of the following month. 
• Tax Payments: Due by the 10th of the following month.
